What is Yoga?
Yoga is more than just stretching on a mat.

Yoga is physical and mental rehabilitation for a stressful lifestyle and an overworked, active body.
There are MANY STYLES of yoga.

Our coaches are certified in Vinyasa (fast flowing yoga sequences), Restorative (relaxing the body and muscles), Yin (strength building and flexibilty focused), and Hatha (muscle building and endurance).
Yoga is a great exercise in self discipline and is all about the mentality of making sure you can "bend without breaking."
Each style of yoga has it's own flow, but your instructor will have a rotating schedule of what style yoga class they will teach.
The following example is the most like a Vinyasa class.
5 min: clearing your mind and finding your breath
5 min: warming up each muscle group
10 min: building up heat in the body with breath and movement
5 min: balance and internal muscle stabilizer work
10 min: flexibility
10 min: flow work
5 min: cool down
5 min: savasana
What is an example of what Yoga class like?
Who is Yoga For?
8 years old and up!

We've had students as young as 8 and as old as 75+
​
Yoga classes are built for everyone regardless of fighting discipline or flexibility level.
For fighters the goal is to get your body be more limber so that you can get those high kicks you've always wanted.
​
For non-fighters the goal is to be in a physical state where you can play with your kids or grandchildren longer and livelier.
When more advanced poses are introduced, simpler versions will be provided for those less advanced.
What will you learn in Yoga Classes
Vinyasa- fast paced flexibility, strength, balance, and cardio. Prepare to sweat!

Yin- focused on mental resilience and training the nervous system to relax. Prepare to hold 5-6 poses for 3 minutes each. This is the best class if you are trying to increase your flexibility!
​
Hatha- This is the weight lifting of yoga classes. We hold around 25 poses around 1-2 minutes each. These classes focus on balance, alignment and breath. Flow is not a concern in this class. Endurance and muscle growth is the goal.
​
Restorative- This class is focused more on cooling down. We are getting your body out of flight or flight mode and start to relax the nervous system. This can be a great start to your day, or an excellent cool down after a particularly intense fighting class.

If you have your own mat, you are welcome to bring it, but our floor is already built for cushioning your body and is regularly sanitized and cleaned.
